Privacy Policy

Your privacy is important. To provide proper treatment, it is necessary for me to keep a record containing your personal information. This is a legal requirement under the Dutch Medical Treatment Agreement Act (WGBO).

This record contains notes about your health, information relating to examinations and treatments, and, in some cases, information that I have requested from another healthcare provider with your consent or that you have provided yourself.

I handle this information with care and ensure that unauthorised persons do not have access to it. As a healthcare practitioner, I am bound by a legal duty of confidentiality.

Use of your information

Your personal information may be used for:

  • Maintaining a record of your treatment history
  • Informing other healthcare providers (only with your consent)
  • Care provision during my absence
  • Anonymous peer review with fellow practitioners
  • Billing and administrative purposes

Digital communication

When you contact me by email or WhatsApp, I use your information only to respond to your enquiry or arrange an appointment. I advise against sharing sensitive medical information through these channels. For treatment-related communication and record-keeping, I always use your client file.

Retention period

In accordance with legal requirements, your client file is retained for 20 years and then securely deleted. You always have the right to access your information and to request that it be corrected or, where legally permitted, deleted.

Invoices

The invoice you receive contains only the information required by your health insurer for reimbursement purposes:

  • Name, address, place of residence and date of birth
  • Date of treatment
  • Short description of the treatment (e.g. “Acupuncture”)
  • Cost of the consultation
